ITT FELLOWS PROGRAM ADMISSIONS
Each year up to 15 top-ranking graduate students who have already been accepted into the master's program at the
North Carolina State College of Textiles will be offered admission into the ITT Fellows program. These students will be awarded tuition scholarships and fellowships
for each year of study in the 2-year program. In addition to meeting the NCSU requirements for graduate school admission, an applicant to the ITT Fellows program will be expected to possess the following qualifications:
- Has a demonstrated interest in textiles (experience in the field is helpful but not necessary).
- Has demonstrable leadership skills and abilities.
- Thinks well on his/her feet;
- Has logical and well-reasoned approaches to problem solving;
- Is assertive and tactful;
- Is flexible in demeanor and knows when to be tough versus sensitive;
- Has an admirable character including honesty, integrity, humility, loyalty, self-control, courage, justice, patience, industriousness, modesty, consistency, and respect for the rights and feelings of others;
- Has intellectual discipline;
- Has developed good time-management skills;
- Is persistent and tenacious;
- Has capacity for technical competence;
- Is bright with above average intelligence, also possessing "common sense";
- Demonstrates leadership, responsibility, and risk taking;
- Is poised and confident, yet not arrogant;
- Is relaxed in manner and is realistic with reasonable expectations for himself/herself and others;
- Takes pride in doing things well and is dedicated to the task and the pursuit of goals;
- Has developed a proven record of success; and
- Works well with people and is a team player.
