Dear Members and Guests:

The Institute of Textile Technology Spring Meeting sponsored by the Technical Advisory Committee
(TAC) will be April 29 and 30, 2009. We look forward to having you back in Raleigh as we have an
exciting program planned. A detailed agenda for the spring meeting is attached. In addition, the
Technical Advisory Committee and the Intellectual Property Committee will meet on April 28, 2009 before
the Welcoming Reception.

This spring’s meeting will be the final thesis research reports of the Class of 2009. An update of the TAC
process will be presented for the current year along with a preview for next cycle.
Presentations will be made by the Institute of Textile Technology and NC State University research
faculty on current research topics. This year we will also have presentations resulting from our new NC
State undergraduate research program. Our dinner speaker, Mr. Randy Harward, Quality Director at
Patagonia, Inc., will discuss "Patagonia: Preparing for the next 100 years." Our goal for this meeting is to
highlight the TAC’s research agenda. Please look through the attached announcement for additional
details on the conference.

Please note this year we are offering the conference materials on CD. We would prefer to provide the
conference materials in CD format; however, if you would prefer a hard copy of the materials, please
indicate Notebook on the attached registration form. A block of rooms has been reserved for April 28 and
29, 2009 at the Marriott Crabtree Valley in Raleigh, NC at the special rate of $129/night. The cut-off date
