Thesis Title: Logistical Models for Closed Loop Recycling of Apparel and Technical Textiles
Thesis Author: James A. Spratley
Abstract: With global production of synthetic fiber increasing annually, there is increased flow of synthetic fiber entering into waste streams that can be reclaimed. Coupled with increased social and governmental pressure to reduce environmental impact, that is greater demand for recycled fiber and fabrics. Current efforts have been focused on recycling carpet and Polyethylene terephalate (PET) bottles, into fiber but little has been done to recycle post consumer PET textile products.
